Russia has filed with the World Trade Organization against US duties on aluminum and steel imports, Russian Economy Minister Maxim Oreshkin said in a statement.
US President Donald Trump imposed tariffs in March, charging 25 percent for steel imports and 10 percent for aluminum. He said they are justified by national security concerns and therefore outside the WTO.
Oreshkin said Russia applied after consulting the United States, the first step needed to address global trade disputes by WTO members.
