Specialists of the service center (Mariupol) "Zaporozhgneupor" carried out routine repairs of blast furnace No. 2 of PJSC "Azovstal" in a short time. All the planned repairs were completed within 10 days with a standard of 14 days.
The main task during the renovation of the blast furnace was the replacement of the refractory lining of the chute system. In particular, the central, cast iron and slag troughs, as well as the troughs of single-nap iron casting and single-nap slag casting, received a new lining. About 35 tons of thixotropic concrete produced by PJSC "Zaporozhgneupor" was used as a refractory material.
“Our goal is to bring the quality and speed of repairs to a fundamentally new level. In this case, the service center was given the task of completing the entire scope of work four days earlier, thereby reducing the repair time by 30%, ”said Sergei Goman, General Director of Zaporozhgneupor.
Prompt repair work by the specialists of the Zaporozhgneupora Service Center will allow Azovstal Subsidiary No. 2 to produce an additional 8 thousand tons of pig iron.
The service center (Mariupol) has been a part of Zaporozhogneupor PJSC since February 2016. The main specialization of the service center is coke-blast refractory works and maintenance of steel-making units.
