In 2018, the export of ferrous metals through the seaports of Ukraine increased by 6.7% compared to the previous year to 15,040,000 tons. This is evidenced by the data of the Seaport Authority.
In particular, the export of pig iron increased by 30.7% to 2,977,000 tons. Exports of rolled metal products decreased by 2.5% to 8,903,000 tons, exports of scrap decreased by 1.7% to 81.05 thousand tons.
Over the year, the export of ore through the seaports of Ukraine decreased compared to the previous year by 6.5% to 18.245.77 million tons. Coke exports decreased by 97.9% to 3.62 thousand tons.
In general, the export of metallurgical products through ports in 2018 decreased by 1.4% compared to 2017 to 33,289,000 tons.
However, the products of the domestic MMC provided a third of the export transshipment of seaports in 2018.
In particular, the port "Yuzhny" handled for export 17,538,000 tons of metallurgical cargo, the Mariupol port - 4,112,000 tons, Odessa - 3,493,000 tons, Izmail - 3,212,000 tons, Nikolaev port - 2,925,000 tons, Chornomorsk - 1,028,000 tons, stevedoring company Olvia - 513.6 thousand tons, Kherson port - 277 thousand tons, Berdyansk - 186.8 thousand tons, Skadovsk port - 2.5 thousand tons.
In general, in 2018, metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine increased the export of ferrous metals by 14.6% to $ 9.937 billion compared to $ 8.666 billion a year earlier. Ferrous metals accounted for 20.99% of the total volume of Ukrainian exports.
