Interpipe NTRP completed the modernization of the thermal department worth $ 5 million

In the pipe-rolling shop No. 4 of PJSC "Interpipe NTZ" an investment project for the modernization of the pipe heat treatment section has been completed. The cost of its implementation was USD 5 million.

Modernization of the thermal department will allow to increase the volume of production of pipe products of increased strength groups.

The project consisted of three main stages: detailed engineering study, construction and commissioning, pilot operation, which was completed in the 4th quarter of 2018.

During the implementation of the project, a hardening device was installed - a nozzle sprayer of the Italian company Barni and a closed cycle of water supply to the heat treatment line was organized, consisting of a main concrete settling tank, an intermediate settling tank with a group of high-pressure pumps, an external pumping station and a cooling tower. A separate transformer substation is also installed outside the workshop, from which the entire facility is powered. This water supply cycle has reduced the use of make-up water from the Dnieper River required for pipe hardening.

- Modernization of heat treatment in TPTs-4 Interpipe NTZ is one of our important investment projects. The existing water supply system for the heat treatment section of TPTs-4 was outdated and did not provide the required performance. Now we will be able to increase the volume of production of pipes of increased strength groups. Thanks to new products, we can strengthen our presence in the markets of the Middle East, North and South America, thereby partially offsetting the loss of the Russian market.
