ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih supplies rolled metal products for road reconstruction

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih has begun deliveries of its steel products for the reconstruction of the N-31 Dnepr - Tsarichanka - Kobelyaki - Reshetilovka highway in the Poltava region. This is one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in Ukraine. Since the end of 2018, the company has already shipped about 90 tons of A500C class fittings with a diameter of 25 mm and A240C class fittings with a diameter of 8 mm for the construction of an overpass and modern two-level interchanges. It is planned that by the end of February the enterprise will supply more than 200 tons of rolled metal products.

After the reconstruction, the road will become a full-fledged four-lane highway of national importance, and from the Dnieper to the capital of Ukraine it will be possible to travel much faster - in just five hours instead of the current seven. The total cost of the reconstruction of the N-31 Dnieper - Tsarichanka - Kobelyaki - Reshetilovka highway is UAH 17.7 billion. Completion of construction is expected in 2021.

Sergey Demchenko, head of the production and technical department of the company "Spetspodzemingstroy":

- Our company acts as a contractor for the construction of pile foundations (drill pillars) during the construction of an overpass as part of this infrastructure project. The pile foundations of 56 drill posts are reinforced with reinforcement cages with a total weight of 267.7 tons, which are manufactured directly on site. The construction of the overpass will make it possible to move the road outside the settlement (Chumaki village), which will ensure safety for residents. This project will also increase the capacity of the road section by increasing the number of traffic lanes from two to four.
