Russian steelmaker NLMK has suspended production at its plant in Italy for at least two weeks due to the spread of the coronavirus, while other European plants are still operating. NLMK said: "We have temporarily suspended the bulk of our operations in Verona for at least two weeks."
The plant in Verona, in northern Italy, which has been hit hard by the virus, employs 260 people and is capable of producing 450,000 tonnes of steel per year.
