EVRAZ North America has announced that nearly 500 members of its Canadian pipe division will receive layoffs, meaning workers will lose jobs from December 17th.
Layoffs are necessary due to the current financial health and health of its energy sector, especially in western Canada, according to the company.
Earlier this year, the company already laid off 300 employees at its Oregon steel mill due to a slump in business.
