Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK), one of the world's largest steel producers in Russia, said it intends to achieve an annual production capacity of 2–2.2 million tonnes of steel at its Turkish MMK Metallurgy plant.
MMK Metallurgy's production is growing every month. The Turkish mill's goal is to produce 100,000 tonnes of steel in December and reach full capacity by the end of the year, smelting 1.7 million tonnes of steel by the end of 2022.
As for electrometallurgical production, MMK Metallurgy is an environmentally friendly asset. which will bring more benefits to the company in the next 10-20 years.
MMK Metallurgy ceased production in 2012 due to economic problems, and the arc furnace at this mill was commissioned in July 2021.
MMK will reach full capacity at the Turkish plant by the end of the year
