Last week prices for most of the Turkish flat steel market continued to rise as strong demand supported the price level.
Meanwhile, a power outage has just brought Turkish electric furnace factories to a three-day shutdown. Along with rising energy costs, steel prices in Turkey have risen almost every day.
This week, local hot-rolled coil producers said they had received enough orders to fill their production lines until April. Some steel mills have even closed their April offers and started providing quotes for May.
