India's crude steel production rose over 6% year on year to 10 million tonnes in June 2022, according to the World Steel Association.

India is the world's second largest producer of crude steel after China, which produced 90.7Mt in June 2022, down 3.3% from its June 2021 production of 93.9Mt.
Production in the United States fell 4.2% to 6.9 million tons last month from 7.1 million tons in the same month of 2021. Russia, which is involved in the conflict with Ukraine, is estimated to have produced 5 million tons, down 22.2%. over 6.4 million tons a year ago. Russia recorded the biggest drop among the top 10 steel producers. While South Korea registered a 6% drop to 5.6 million tons, Germany produced 3.2 million tons, down 7% year-over-year.
In June 2022, Turkey produced 2.9 million tons of crude steel, down 13.1%, while Brazil is estimated to have produced 2.9 million tons of steel, recording a 6.1% drop. Iran is estimated to have produced 2.2 million tons, down 10.8%.
