Outokumpu, a global stainless steel producer from Finland, said that stainless shipments in the second quarter of this year amounted to 603,000 tons, down 3.7% from the previous quarter. In the first half of the year, deliveries amounted to 1.25 million tons, an increase of 1.3% compared to the same period last year.
Outokumpu's Q2 sales were €2.95 billion, up 58% year-on-year.
Outokumpu said second-quarter adjusted EBITDA hit a record high of €547m despite significant cost inflation and geopolitical turmoil. The company also launched Circle Green, a range of low-emission stainless steel products, and set a goal of achieving carbon neutrality at the Kemi chromium mine by 2025.
