UK recommends extending AD measures to rebar from China

The UK Remedy Authority (TRA) has proposed extending anti-dumping (AD) measures to high fatigue performance concrete steel rebar (HFP rebar) from China.

TRA indicated in its original findings of the Statement of Material Facts that maintaining the measure could lead to supply issues for HFP rebar, but is now proposing to change its recommendation in the light of import data and economic forecasts.

According to the analysis of the TRA investigation, the reduction in imports from Russia and Belarus could lead to serious problems in the supply chain and hurt the UK construction industry, but after interim findings, the authorities found that the reduction in imports from Russia and Belarus offset the increase in imports from other countries. Therefore, TRA recommended extending the current AD measure to the import of Russian rebar.
