Japanese automaker Nissan has announced that it has sold its Russian operations to a Russian automotive research institute, pulling out of the Russian market.
The sale includes Nissan's production and research centers in St. Petersburg, as well as a sales and marketing center in Moscow. The deal will officially close in the next few weeks, subject to approval by the relevant authorities.
The terms of the sale will give Nissan the option to buy the plant and its business within the next six years.
In March, the company suspended operations in Russia.
