This coating has many advantages. Its installation does not require special work to prepare the base, only an epoxy primer is needed. It does not shrink in service. The polymer-cement floor has high dynamic and mechanical strength. Differs in excellent water resistance, as well as resistance to temperatures (from -40 to +60 degrees). The material is not afraid of the negative effects of chemicals (for example, detergents and disinfectants). It is easy to maintain and does not require any special maintenance. Those who want to lay a floor of this type have ample opportunities for its decorative design. In addition, the installation of polymer cement is cost-effective in comparison with other materials.
The device of polymer-cement floors is recommended for the reconstruction of concrete, its leveling and the elimination of cracks. It is laid when there is no technological or financial opportunity to create a new concrete screed. Polymer cement is also used when, according to the project, it is impossible to increase the thickness of the coating. Since a floor of this type can be put into operation within 5-7 days after its installation, this method is used in cases when urgent repair of an old coating is required.
Before laying the polymer-cement floor, the concrete base is prepared (grinding and dusting) for good adhesion of the new coating layer to the base. For the same purpose, an epoxy primer is applied to the surface. Then the main screed of polymer cement is poured, with a thickness of 4 to 20 mm. And finally, with the help of special equipment, the floor is trowelled.
