Diamond discs: advantages, types, by whom and for what they are used

Алмазные диски: преимущества, виды, кем и для чего используются

When performing the process of cutting and grinding materials such as brick, concrete, stone and other polymer coatings, it is very important to get a perfectly smooth cut. If, after cutting or grinding, the material was damaged (there is roughness, tears), then this indicates that such a product will no longer have normal performance characteristics. Also, its appearance may be noticeably affected. To avoid such problems, there are diamond discs capable of making a perfectly flat edge when cutting, which ultimately will reduce the cost of grinding.

Diamond blades can have different profiles. So, there are segment discs and discs with a solid edge. The first type is mainly used for cutting materials with a high to medium abrasiveness. Solid edge blades deliver outstanding cutting results in marble, granite, porcelain stoneware and similar materials. The chance of chipping when cutting with a solid edge blade is minimized.

You may have a fair question: where and by whom are diamond discs used? The area of their application is very wide: this tool can be called the key for gas cutters, tile cutters, floor saws, cut-off machines, stone-cutting machines and grinding tools. It is widely used to create pavements, runways, sidewalks, curbs, to create cuts in ceilings and for work with ceramics and porcelain stoneware. Also, this tool is indispensable for all builders who carry out erection /dismantling of buildings.

Note that there is dry and wet cutting. When dry cutting, the wheel is simply attached to a grinding machine or other tool, and when wet, it will need to be installed on a special machine, where the entire cutting process will be accompanied by moderate watering with liquid. Wet cutting allows you to significantly increase the number of cutting cycles and is ideal for performing large-scale jobs (dry cutting approximately halves the working life of a diamond wheel).

In conclusion, we note that when installing the wheel on the machine, it is necessary to check the direction of rotation, which is indicated on the cutter. It must match the direction of the shaft on the machine. Otherwise, the disk may be damaged.
