Repair of turbochargers may be necessary if: oil has coagulated in the engine; clogged catalyst; the filter is clogged or broken (as well as if it is completely absent or was absent for some time); the mesh in the engine oil receiver is clogged.

The turbocharging mechanism includes two housings, a compressor wheel and a turbine, two thrust bearings that seal the working medium from the shaft, slide bushings, channels for supplying oil to them and plugs for draining this oil. Select models can be equipped with variable-angle wheel turbines to maximize exhaust gas efficiency. By supplying additional air to the engine cylinders, turbocharging provides better combustion of the air-fuel mixture, which increases the engine power of the machine. On the other hand, it imposes additional considerable physical and mechanical loads on the engine. Therefore, a car equipped with a turbine requires careful maintenance. It is possible to extend the life of the turbine, and therefore the engine, by timely replacement of filters, oil and candles, as well as the installation of a high-quality clutch and regular unit diagnostics by specialists.

If, nevertheless, it happened that the turbine does not work correctly or ineffectively, or is completely out of order, you cannot hesitate to contact a car repair shop for urgent repair of the mechanism.

Repair of turbochargers may be necessary if:

  • oil coagulated in the engine;
  • clogged catalyst;
  • the filter is clogged or broken (as well as if it is absent at all or has been missing for a while);
  • the mesh in the engine oil receiver is clogged;
  • increased pressure in the crankcase;
  • increased or decreased pressure in the engine lubrication system;
  • a high-temperature ceramic sealant was used during the installation of the turbine;

  • another substance or particle (for example, a grain of sand or a grain of something) got into the turbine with lubricant;
  • an object (such as a clamp or nut) has hit the turbine;
  • oil got into the exhaust tract and the turbine blades were burnt;
  • filter housings or air lines are worn out;
  • oil does not enter the turbine or is completely absent;
  • elements of guide or piston systems got into the exhaust tract;
  • bearings or impellers are worn out.
