Taking into account the experience of foreign business, the heads of domestic companies began to pay more attention to social interaction with customers and the economy. This is how the life of the development of corporate social responsibility got life in our country. The term CSR does not have a general definition, therefore, the concept of social responsibility is different for each company. But definitely CSR can be divided into external and internal.
Direction of external and internal CSR
In this case, corporate social responsibility should be viewed as the company's responsibility to customers, employees and society as a whole. Based on this, CSR is divided into external and internal.
The principles of internal social responsibility are aimed primarily at improving the well-being of the company and improving the quality of life of employees. By the way, the so-called “social package” also refers to the principles of internal CSR. However, not spoiled by the good attitude of the employer, our compatriots are inclined to consider paid leave as a social package. In fact, the granting of leave is the employer's compliance with the Labor Code. Therefore, as an example of internal corporate social responsibility, it is worth considering those programs, the initiative of which belongs to the employer. For example:
- Discount vouchers for company employees and their families
- Supplementary health insurance
- Organization of professional development courses
Naturally, each company has its own list of internal corporate social responsibility programs. However, the main difference between internal and external CSR became clear. By the way, what is external social responsibility aimed at?
Bypassing the issue of external CSR terminology, it is worth highlighting the programs most widespread in our country. In particular, these are:
- Sponsorship and charity
- Organization of events at the expense of the company
- Participation in activities to protect the environment
- Interaction with government and society
It can be noted that some companies used internal CSR programs even before the concept itself became known to domestic business. And yet, in general, it is impossible to call the development of social responsibility of companies complete. It will take some more time before CSR acquires certain features and standards in our country.
