In mechanical engineering, as well as in the construction field, today, rolled metal and all products that are made from it have gained extraordinary popularity. All rolled metal products are made from metals, which are lead, copper, steel alloys and iron. The metals themselves are divided into ferrous and non-ferrous.
Naturally, rolled metal itself is usually subdivided into non-ferrous and black. Non-ferrous steel includes those products that are made of light, precious, some heavy, rare metals, as well as radioactive alloys.
Non-ferrous metal rolling
It is not surprising that, compared to black, there is much less need for non-ferrous metal.
This tendency is associated with the fact that the high durability and excellent strength of these products, which are made of non-ferrous metals, are significantly inferior to those of cast iron or steel. Moreover, even in production, these products are more expensive than products from ferrous metal.
Such rolled metal is used in those areas where certain specific properties are required: for example, in the field of medicine, electrical engineering, aviation, instrument making, as well as in the production of equipment for space.
Black metal rolling
This type of rolled metal consists of the following three types of products:
- Cast iron;
- A variety of steel alloys;
- Ferroalloys.
It is customary to use black billets from rolled metal in the production process of beams, piles, pipes, rails, and even automobile bodies, as well as cars and the rest. The main types of rolled metal are called fittings, channel bars, beams, valves, angles and pipes.
The armature is a product made of rolled metal, which looks like a rod, and its diameter can be changed in a fairly wide range. A large-sized product, which is mainly needed in the construction industry, is a beam. Beams can be called the most demanded product among all rolled metal products.
In the construction industry, there is also a corner, which is a metal plate, which is bent at an angle equal to ninety degrees. With a U-shaped section, rolled metal is called a channel. Pipes have become very popular in rolled metal products. They come in many varieties and are needed in many areas. Produced in rolled metal and valves used to regulate the flow of gas or liquid in pipelines.
