Kerosene is a flammable colorless mixture obtained by distillation of oil. It is widely used in various spheres of human life, such as:
- fuel source;
- for technical work;
- for lighting works;
- for pest control;
- in folk medicine.
Chemical composition of kerosene
1.about 10 different carbons;
2.saturated and branched and unbranched paraffins;
3.cycloparaffins;
4. impurities of oxygen, sulfur, nitrogen, compounds
The fact that the function of kerosene as a light source is largely lost, it is still used for this purpose, as an alternative source of lighting during power supply problems. The use of kerosene is used by tourists in portable "kitchens" and primus, as well as means for building fires.
In the fuel sector, it is the fuel for rocket engines. Considering its chemical properties, it is used as an additive for diesel fuel. It helps prevent chemical processes when temperatures drop, and fuel thickening.
Technical kerosene is used as a raw material for the production of ethylene, it is used at the final stage - the firing of porcelain and glass products.
Chemical features, low temperature of the fire during combustion made it possible to actively use kerosene when staging shows and circus performances. Here it is actively used by jugglers working with fire to create spectacular shows.
Non-fuel use
It is actively used in the fight against harmful insects. Such unpleasant neighbors for humans as bedbugs and lice disappear after being treated with kerosene.
The unique properties of the product were appreciated and applied in their practice by traditional medicine. On its basis or with its use, medicines, ointments, compresses are made for treatment:
- nervous diseases;
- diseases of the gastrointestinal tract;
- respiratory diseases;
- skin diseases;
- joint pain;
- oncopathologies, etc.
Kerosene should be stored out of the reach of children and animals in the production packaging. Storage of the product, subject to all manufacturer's conditions, is 60 months. Described in detail here .
When using kerosene, you must follow safety rules. Rubber gloves, goggles, a respirator - all this must be used when working with the product in order to avoid the dangerous effects that the substance can have on a person.
