How a gear pump works

Structurally, the product is a pair of gears, which are located in a stator (dense housing). Both elements have teeth for engagement. An electric motor drives one gear, which turns the other.

During operation, the teeth capture the pumped liquid, squeeze it to the body and move it from the suction side to the pressure side. In this case, the overflow of the working substance is excluded due to the same tight adhesion of the teeth.

In order to increase the pressure, multistage gear pumps are used. In this case, the supply of each subsequent stage is weaker in strength than the previous one. The excess liquid is removed through the bypass valve.
