Valves and flanges

Вентили и фланцы

Any pipeline cannot exist and function without valves. Its main representatives are valves and steel connecting flanges, which ensure the normal operation of the pipeline. The valve material is usually steel, which is ideal for various media transported through pipelines.

Purpose and types of steel valves

Valves are basic elements of shut-off valves, and are designed to shut off and regulate the flow of a passing medium. Depending on the characteristics, type of installation and functionality, the following main types of valves are distinguished:

  • ball valves regulating the flow rate (full bore, standard, partial bore);
  • shut-off valves, blocking and starting the medium flow and having high tightness (shut-off and control valves, special, shut-off valves);
  • coupling valves, characterized by the tightness and reliability of the entire connection, which are mounted using internal threaded couplings.

When choosing valves, it is necessary to be guided by the material of the pipe on which it will be installed, and it is also worth considering the type of medium passing through it and the way of regulating the flow. A wide range of valves is presented here for various purposes and any pipeline system.

Varieties and features of the choice of flanges

Flanges are an integral part of all piping connections. They are rings with the required number of holes for fastening pipe joints. For their production, various grades of cast irons and steels are used, which allows them to be used with aggressive media. The following flange types are available:

  1. collar, butt-welded to the pipe and having the same diameter as the pipe;
  2. flat weldable flanges welded to the back of the pipe;
  3. threaded flanges attached to the pipeline by means of a thread.

The choice of a connecting flange depends on the specific operating conditions and parameters such as pressure, temperature, aggressiveness of the medium, the geometric dimensions of the pipe and the connection points. To solve this problem here is the page where you can choose any flange of interest for connecting various joints of the pipeline.
