A few decades ago, there were attempts to replace ordinary wooden windows with aluminum profile products. At that time they were far from ideal - they looked quite rough and monotonous, having a very low level of tightness. Due to such poor quality, they did not take root for use in houses or apartments. However, today, thanks to the modern approach to their manufacture, aluminum windows have again become popular, not inferior in quality to metal-plastic structures. Now they have acquired a beautiful appearance and better performance.
What are the advantages of aluminum windows?
- They are relatively lightweight, and at the same time quite durable;
- They are distinguished by high resistance to deformation, corrosion, sudden changes in temperature and environmental influences;
- High soundproofing qualities;
- The ability to keep warm indoors;
- Variety of design solutions;
- Durability;
- The ability to repair and replace unusable parts throughout the life.
Classification of aluminum window structures by purpose
Depending on the purpose, aluminum windows are divided into "cold" and "warm".
- "Cold" windows. They do not have special inserts for thermal insulation, and therefore such windows are mainly used in rooms that are not heated, such as balconies, galleries, conservatories or storage rooms.
- "Warm" windows. They are distinguished by high thermal insulation qualities due to the presence of a thermal bridge in them. They are used in residential or non-residential premises that are heated, for glazing facades and in other cases when it is necessary to maintain a stable temperature in these objects.
Features of the design of aluminum windows
This type of window structure can be equipped with different types of double-glazed windows and have different sash configurations. By design, such windows can be:
- Deaf;
- Opening;
- Combined (which combine blind and opening sashes).
Aluminum windows, like metal-plastic windows, have different ways of opening them:
- Swivel;
- Folding;
- For airing
Aluminum windows are characterized by a good level of fire, environmental and hygienic safety. For this reason, they are appropriate for glazing offices, residential premises, buildings for public use.
