Moment 1 - steel thickness. The range of thickness of the steel sheet of the metal tile ranges from 0.37 to 0.75 mm. The maximum thickness is, of course, additional reliability and strength, but at the same time problems with profiling due to loss of flexibility. And the minimum thickness of 0.37 mm turns out to be too thin and does not create a feeling of security in the conditions of our summer heat and frosty winter. Experts have set the optimum for this parameter: 0.45 - 0.5 mm. Such steel is both malleable during installation and resistant to weathering. But the zinc content on the steel surface should be 275 g /m2 and not less.
Optimal polymer
The polymer coating is endowed with two types of tasks: to protect the profile from external influences and to give an attractive appearance to the roof. Among them: PVDF, Ruukki pural, plastisol, polyester, matt polyester. Polyester is characterized by an affordable cost, but the loss of visual appeal after a certain time. Pural, in contrast to the previous polymer, is characterized by greater resistance to the environment, mechanical stress and a longer service life. Pural-protected metal roofing is more expensive, but in the long run it will save you both money and hassle.
