Pipeline and distant space - these two concepts may seem to be different weight categories, which are not related in any way and which will never intersect. But, there is still a connection between these concepts, and it is even closer than it might seem at first glance. The fact is that spacecraft, especially long-distance *, use on board:
- Computer electronics
- Research equipment
- Power plants and life support systems
By the way, buy steel pipe in Dnipro (Dnipropetrovsk) can be delivered to any region of Ukraine.
As you know, all equipment is powered by electricity. Energy sources in spacecraft are completely autonomous, most often classical models of nuclear reactors are used.
* Many satellites study outer space in the spectrum of thermal radiation. The fact is that heat gives much more information about celestial bodies than the same electromagnetic radiation. And so that the earth's heat does not affect the accuracy of the "thermal telescopes", the spaceships are forced to go to the Lagrange point, which is located at a distance of 1.5 million kilometers from our planet. In such ships, efficient heat removal from the onboard electronics is of paramount importance. Research ships are equipped with the most efficient heat removal systems that are created from pipeline communications.
A nuclear reactor is a very powerful thing, and it often happens that it generates more power than a spacecraft requires. As a rule, out of 100% of the generated heat, only 5-20% is used for its intended purpose. The rest 95-80% needs to be put somewhere. And on this note, the familiar earthly pipeline communications come to the fore.
What pipes are used to remove heat in spacecraft?
Loop heat pipes (CTT) are most often used. These rolled products are made on the basis of copper. Copper pipes will be filled with a capillary-porous filler that can interact with:
- Liquids
- Steam heated to high temperatures
The main feature of loop heat pipes is the complete independence of the circulation process from the energy source and from the spatial position under conditions of a gravitational field or in complete weightlessness. The circulation of liquid in such pipes is natural, that is, various compressor equipment, pumps, etc. are not used here. Water moves independently in the right direction and with the required
