General classification and purpose of drywall
Regardless of the manufacturer, this building material is of the following types and purposes:
- general purpose (GKL). It is used for installation in rooms with permissible humidity up to 70%. Coating color - gray with blue markings.
- fire resistant (GKLO). It is mainly used in industrial premises with a high fire hazard. Gray sheet with red marking.
- moisture resistant (GKLV). The main area of use is in premises with high humidity (bathrooms, kitchens, industrial premises, garages, etc.) This species is easily distinguished by the green color of the cardboard and the blue markings.
- moisture resistant and fire resistant (GKLVO). It combines the properties of the two previous types. Sheets are green with red markings.
Based on the listed characteristics, the materials from the last two groups are the most acceptable for renovation work in the bathroom. It should be noted that gypsum plasterboard GKLVO is much more expensive due to its additional fire retardant treatment.
