A nut is a type of fastener that connects with a threaded hole to a screw, bolt, or stud. It is impossible to imagine any bolted connection without a nut, therefore this type of fastener is in great demand in the industrial field and in any other areas due to its versatility. Most often, the nut is in the form of a hexagon with a round or square notch.
Methods for the production of nuts
The main options for manufacturing nuts in the factory are turning and casting. Bulky nuts are most often cast in order to reduce wastage of raw material and to avoid high labor costs for machining on lathes. Thus, the cost of finished products is reduced.
A reasonable modern option for the manufacture of nuts is the method of centrifugal casting using a special technology, which guarantees high-precision products at the output. Processes such as hot casting the nut require no additional finishing step or require minimal finishing sanding.
When ordering products from specialized companies, you can:
- get an outflow of nuts for any given size;
- choose any alloy or metal as a raw material;
- specify the desired production time.
The centrifugal casting technology allows you to specify the size of castings for nuts with a diameter of up to 650 mm and a length of up to 600 mm. Finished nuts must comply with the working drawings, which is controlled at the exit of the products from the flow. After final processing, the products are ready for shipment to customers with a package of relevant documents indicating the batch number, technical characteristics of nuts, the total weight of the supplied products.
