A completely different method of biometric identification was described in the Samsung patent application, which is planned to be used in smartphones, according to the Stylus online store, which implements the original X7 plus 3G smartphones , iPhone X, Apple Watch, tablets, PCs, laptops, etc.
Samsung's patent application proposes palm scanning as an identification method on Samsung phones. The example in the patent shows a person taking a photograph of a hand to retrieve a forgotten password. But instead of only entering the password on the screen, the phone hides the letters in different areas on your hand. The incomplete characters should then give the user enough clues to guess the password without making the answer too obvious.
If this finger-scanning technique ever makes its way to future Galaxy phones, it will join a long list of biometric identification methods. Modern Samsung phones like the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 are already using fingerprint scanning, iris scanning, and face recognition over PIN and pattern-based patterns. While the palm scan patent will use a copy of the forgotten password, there is always the option to use it for other purposes, such as unlocking the phone or authenticating Samsung Pay.
