Almost all fires occur due to the human factor, non-compliance with fire safety standards. As a rule, only a few fires out of a hundred are due to coincidences of unforeseen circumstances. The knowledge gained on the organization of fire safety allows you to protect production, products and raw materials from fires.
Fire safety does not consist in the availability of fire extinguishing means, but in the provision of measures to prevent the occurrence and spread of fire. If a fire started and no measures were taken to eliminate it in the first minutes, then it is almost impossible to eliminate the source of ignition. Even if the fire truck arrives in five minutes, the consequences will be irreversible.
Electrical appliances and wiring are the most common sources of ignition. The electrical wiring must be checked at least once a year. If the wiring is damaged in some places and the resistance is too high, a fire may start under heavy loads. Do not use too powerful electrical appliances if the power grid is not designed for such a load.
All household and industrial appliances must have certificates of compliance with fire safety standards. There must be a fire extinguisher in the room. In the event of a fire, even with the necessary knowledge and skills, it is very difficult to put out the fire with the available means. In the event of a fire due to electrical wiring, water and wet rags must not be used.
