Reinforcement assignment
Metal reinforcement helps to distribute the load, protects concrete from cracking and prevents decay. Most often, there is a need to buy reinforcement for construction purposes in the construction of reinforced concrete structures. Due to the connection of concrete with steel reinforcement, the required strength of the finished structure, resistance to compression or tension is provided.
Reinforcing rods are manufactured strictly according to the approved GOST. If, when erecting a reinforced concrete structure, use a poor-quality or defective material, then the result will be insufficient bearing capacity, which can lead to the collapse of the building.
Today, in order to save on metal, they began to produce fiberglass fittings. Such non-metallic reinforcement has its own scope and undeniable advantages, however, the disadvantages include a low modulus of elasticity and a decrease in strength over time.
Rebar types and functions
The fittings are used at different stages of construction and other works. Depending on what function it performs, the following types can be distinguished.
- Working. Needed to take on tensile forces and to reduce external loads.
- Constructive. Helps to distribute the load between the rest of the bars.
- Clamps. It is used to prevent the formation of cracks in the structure and to connect all the rods into a single frame.
- Editing room. I use it to create the skeleton. It is this reinforcement that helps the steel rods to take the correct position during concreting. This type of reinforcement is used individually or in the form of a group connected by welding.
- Piece by piece. Represents round rods, needed to assemble the frame.
- Reinforcement mesh consists of numerous rods connected by welding. The main purpose is plate reinforcement.
