The International Zinc Research Group (ILZSG) has announced preliminary data on global demand for refined zinc and galvanized steel for the first three quarters of this year.
Galvanized metal products are widely used in the construction of roof frames and buildings, and in particular, profilsistem.com galvanized profile for LSTC ... Profile Systems LLC specializes in the production of LSTK, carrying out design, production of profiles and assembly of turnkey buildings. The advantages of using such profile systems contribute to an increase in the production of galvanized steel throughout the world, which is reflected in the global zinc market.
During the reporting period, there was a noticeable deficit of 305 thousand tons on the refined zinc market. Preliminary data does not include Chinese trade data for the half-year April-September 2018, ILZSG notes.
Production of refined zinc metal rose marginally by 0.6% from 9.728 million tonnes in the January-September 2017 period to 9.790 million tonnes in the first nine months of 2018. Australia, Belgium, Canada, Japan, Norway and Peru reported higher production. However, the growth in production in the above countries was partially offset by the decline in production in China and India. Monthly production was 1.101 million tonnes in September 18.
Global production of zinc ores also recorded a slight increase of 1.2% over the prior year to 9.415 million tonnes during the first three quarters of 2018. Growth in production from the European Region, especially Finland, Greece, Ireland and Macedonia, was more than offset by notable reductions in Poland and Sweden. Other major manufacturers, including Canada, China, India and Mexico, recorded lower results.
Global use of refined zinc metal showed a slight decrease of 0.3% over the previous year. The lower annualized consumption of 10.095 million tonnes was primarily driven by weaker demand in China, South Africa and Taiwan.
