The total production of liquid steel in 64 countries of the world, which are members of the World Steel Association (worldsteel), reached a higher level during 11 months of this year compared to last year. Steel production in the South American region rose slightly in January-November 2018, up 2.1%. Steel production in the African continent increased by 8.5% over the previous year. Steel production in the EU-28 countries decreased slightly by 0.5%. Meanwhile, production in other European countries rose 1.6%. The CIS and Oceania region reported production growth of 0.6% and 7.0%, respectively.
