Augers, known to almost everyone from school, as the invention of Archimedes, are widely used in various fields. Among them, one can single out agriculture, where this device is used for loading, unloading and moving during drying of grain crops, bulk cargo (chemical fertilizers, sand), as well as in the work of reapers or other harvesting equipment. For every breakdown or malfunction of the device, which happens quite often and, as a rule, in the most inopportune period of sowing or harvesting, it is not very effective to look for the necessary part by calling manufacturers or suppliers. But the available own auger machine is able to solve this problem in a matter of hours.
Which machine to choose
In agriculture, augers made of especially strong, difficult-to-machine steel grades are not used, therefore, for their production on our own, an easy-to-maintain medium-power machine of the Dintek 30, 50 or SG 5 series will be sufficient, which allow:
- To make separate turns (segments) of the future auger or to repair the existing one, the required dimensions.
- Stretch (twist) the steel sheet to obtain a seamless spiral of the required length.
Manufactured parts are attached to the axle by manual welding or using special jigs. Then the new (repaired) auger is ready for use.
The listed machines are so clear and easy to use that they do not require long-term training of the operating personnel; to master, introductory instructions and a couple of hours of practical training are enough. All that is required from the manager in the future is to keep in stock the necessary sheet metal or blanks already cut from it.
