The reliability of industrial equipment depends on many little things. But, the most important are consumables. They are the ones that wear out in the first place. It is enough to look at on the site to see which industrial components are in high demand. If you use high quality products, machines, conveyor belts and other mechanisms will serve well for many years.
Bearing as a consumable
There is not a single industrial machinery that does not use bearings to reduce friction between rotating shafts and stationary parts of the machinery. Even if they are properly loaded, provided with sufficient lubrication and do not overheat, they will still be subject to normal wear. The selection of new bearings should be based on the following technical data:
1. Ideal fit to match the base bearing.
2. Thrust or rolling bearing.
3. Ball or roller type rolling elements.
4. The presence or absence of additional protection of separators.
5. Compliance with GOST standards and quality.
Important: There are many bearing manufacturers. Some of them have a time-tested reputation and many users. But, this does not mean that there cannot be more affordable analogues among the assortment, without reducing the quality.
Drive Chains and Belts
Also belongs to the category of consumables. They are subject to rapid wear if they do not work in the same plane with two or more gears or pulleys. The skew provokes increased wear, forcing consumables to be changed much more often. Before buying new chains or belts, make sure there are no other problems:
- no misalignment in the position of the pulleys or stars;
- permissible wear of stars and pulleys;
- is there any signs of mechanical damage on the surface;
- find out the exact pitch and width of the pulleys.
All this is very important for choosing not only high-quality, but also suitable-sized drive belts and chains. Only in this case they will work much longer than their previous counterparts.
