Unlike a round analogue, a rectangular and square cut pipe has a wider scope of application. Versatile enough, it is equally well suited for the residential and industrial sectors. Features of profile production
Only two types of product are used as a blank. It can be a regular round pipe made of steel or non-ferrous metal, or a metal strip. In the latter case, it is passed through the rollers of a special machine, which forms a square or rectangular profile. For reliability, the joint is connected using a welded seam. Seamless production technology is based on the following stages:
1. The pipe is produced by the hot-rolled method.
2. Passing the hot workpiece through the machine, forming the required profile.
3. Final calibration to consumer sizes.
Important: as recent studies have shown, the welding technology has reached such a high level that, compared to seamless analogs, the welded profile has 95% of its original strength. During operation, the difference of 5% is practically not felt.
Practical application of square and rectangular profiles
The pipe is used as elements of metal structures. It is able to withstand bearing loads and act as a decorative element. But, the versatility of these functions is not limited. A quality profile is also used in other areas:
- frame or individual pieces of furniture;
- stair railings or base for steps;
- stainless steel is popular with designers;
- as a reliable protection of cables and wires.
It is very easy to bend a hollow profile, to give it the shape necessary for construction and installation purposes. It is fed by welding, connected with bolts and nuts. Excellent resistance to dynamic and static loads. Like its round counterpart, a square or rectangle can act as a water pipe or channel for the movement of gas under pressure.
