Not all people who dream of linking their lives with teaching and enrolling in graduate school are fully aware of what they may encounter during their studies. Of course, writing articles for VAK journals, abstracts for a conference is understandable and at first very interesting and exciting. However, after a year or two of study and work on a dissertation, many come to order a Ph.D. thesis.
All the difficulties on the way to the cherished dream become more obvious. It takes a lot of time to prepare a high-quality work that will have practical and theoretical value. After all, you need:
- select the right sources for writing a dissertation. It is important not only to find literature that suits the research topic, but also to track its relevance. It is not recommended to use sources that were issued earlier than 5 years before the start of work on the dissertation. Since the dissertation is a serious scientific research and it should reflect the subjective opinion of the author on a particular issue, it should be new, and not the result of “transfusion from empty to empty”. If we take the old literature, then the desired effect is unlikely to be achieved, because quotes or opinions have probably already been analyzed more than once in more “recent” works;
- make a plan. It would seem that such a trifle, but even it will have to spend not a day or two. It is important to immediately think over the whole concept of work. The theoretical part of the work should, as it were, lead the reader to the practical component. That is why already at the very beginning it is necessary to understand what result the author expects at the end;
- set the introduction. It is necessary to clearly indicate the relevance, goals, objectives, methodology, etc.;
- think about the practical part of the job. Collection of materials depends on the chosen topic. For example, for graduate students who are writing a dissertation in law, it would be good to apply to the courts, city councils, private companies to collect materials;
- prepare the text of the work, while not forgetting about such concepts as “plagiarism” and “uniqueness”. The work does not allow the use of other people's thoughts, quotes, even in the corrected version, it should contain only the author's ideas, all borrowings should be referenced in the text;
- justify. There is also a whole story here, because you need to set the fields, use fonts correctly, study the DSTU for designing sources, etc.
In addition, the graduate student will have to resolve issues with acts of implementation in the educational process and science, establish communication with reviewers, opponents, and much more. That is why ordering a Ph.D. thesis will be the best solution - and time will be freed up for solving other issues that cannot be delegated, and not to wag your nerves.
