Technological features of production
Oil is always the basis. At the refinery, raw materials go through several stages of processing. One of the products is the base mineral oil, from which products for engines are subsequently produced. It is worth adding to the most important and responsible technological processes:
- Purification of the base product from suspended impurities.
- Getting rid of a lot of natural paraffins.
- Addition of necessary additives, additional components.
- Check for compliance with all specifications.
- Developed and stored in a specially adapted container.
Important: high-quality mineral motor oil has a limited shelf life. With prolonged storage, even under optimal storage conditions, the lubricant loses some of its performance characteristics. To lubricate the engine, it is better to use a fresh product from a trusted manufacturer.
Actual Application
Mineral oil has stable performance. But, due to the use of natural raw materials in the production, it can only be used for a limited range of internal combustion engines. The main advantage of lubrication is affordable cost and minimal natural aging inside the engine. Engine oil is recommended for the following areas:
- motors with a production date before 2001;
- simple naturally aspirated engines with a carburetor;
- motor with solid mileage and large clearances;
- for commercial tractor transport;
- recommended by some truck manufacturer.
After a major overhaul, while the engine has minimal clearances between moving parts, it is better to use semi-synthetic oil. It takes better care that the motor does not get damaged due to overloads and overheating. But, as natural wear and tear, in order to save money, you can switch back to the mineral counterpart.
