Xiaomi has won the hearts of millions of users around the world thanks to its inexpensive yet advanced gadgets. One of the most successful lines of smartphones from this manufacturer, Redmi Note, has been conquering the sales charts for many years now and receiving rave reviews from critics. And at the beginning of 2024, another update of this popular series awaits us.
It's been a while since Xiaomi announced when it would launch the latest generation of smartphones from one of its most popular series on the global market. Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the Redmi Note 13 line of smartphones will be launched on the global market on January 4, 2023. Although Redmi Note 13 Pro release date was known and previously many expected how the manufacturer would present the capabilities of the devices.
This article will talk about what innovations Redmi Note 13 will bring us compared to the previous generation of this line. We will consider the characteristics and features of all announced models, as well as the prospects for their sales on the global market.
Success of Redmi Note 13 in China
In September last year, Xiaomi introduced the world to the Redmi Note 13 smartphone - the next part of the hit Redmi Note series. The Chinese presentation was clearly a success, and the manufacturer hastened to announce another sales record. However, three new models - Redmi Note 13, Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ - were still awaiting release on the global market, and Xiaomi, in fact, was escalating the situation ahead of their debut.
In mid-December 2023, the international launch date was finally announced, which, as expected, took place on January 4, 2024. What interesting things will the manufacturer offer us this time? Will Xiaomi be able to surprise again with a favorable combination of price and quality? Let's figure it out!
Characteristics of Redmi Note 13 Pro
We know that Xiaomi, in its current advertising campaign, is strongly emphasizing the advantages of the new smartphones, which will most likely again offer a very good price-performance ratio. This time, the manufacturer is focusing on the Pro model, noting that it will be the world's first smartphone with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor. It seems that the Chinese giant likes to be first, because this year it also offered the world's first premium models with the flagship Snapdragon. However, coming back to the main character, we can say that the Redmi Note 13 Pro will not only have the same design, but also the same specifications as the Chinese variant.
It's easy to see that both the base model and Pro closely resemble the iPhone, with their flat, metal-trimmed bezels and square camera island. Recently, these references to the devices of the Cupertino giant have become even more noticeable, and even the upcoming -displej/">Samsung Galaxy S24is expected to borrow some design elements. Redmi Note 13 Pro+ already looks better in this regard.
On board the regular Pro, which is so advertised by the manufacturer, there is:
- 6.67-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 1220 x 2712 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor with support for up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage.
- 5100 mAh battery with support for 67 W fast charging.
- Cameras:
- 16-megapixel front
- Main 200-megapixel
- Ultra-wide-angle 8-megapixel
- Macro 2 megapixel
Characteristics of other models in the series
In addition to the Pro version, the Note 13 line includes the base model and the improved Pro+ version. Let's look at their features.
Redmi Note 13
As for the specifications of the other two devices in the series, the entry-level Redmi Note 13 received an AMOLED screen with the same diagonal and refresh rate as the Pro, but with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It is powered by the Chinese version of the Dimensity 6080 chip, paired with 6, 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal storage. Power is supplied by a 5000 mAh battery with 33 W fast charging. The selfie camera is also 16 megapixels, but on the rear panel we have only a 108 megapixel main module and a 2 megapixel depth sensor.
Redmi Note 13 Pro+
Of course, Redmi Note 13 Pro+ offers the most. The display here has the same basic specs as the Pro, although we do get a curved panel with 1920Hz PWM dimming. It can reach a peak brightness of up to 1,800 nits in auto mode and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The MediaTek Dimensity 7200-Ultra chipset is responsible for performance.
