Ruukki Construction, part of SSAB, has opened a new production line for roofing profiles in Vympel, Finland.
In recent years, Ruukki has spent a total of €8 million (US$8.4 million) on the Vympel plant as part of a multi-year investment program. At Vympel, the company has further improved product properties, optimized material flows, increased production capacity and automation, modernized production lines, and improved social and civil defense facilities, SSAB said.
The nearly 100-meter-long profiling line at Vympel will double the plant’s roofing lock capacity. It is designed to produce Ruukki Classic, Ruukki Classic LowCarbon, and Ruukki Trendic profiles and is the largest single investment in the project, which was announced in December 2021.
SSAB says these improvements will result in new, higher quality, more environmentally friendly roofing materials that are more efficient for both installation partners and home builders and renovators.
