A telephone conversation took place between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Barack Obama to discuss the settlement of the situation in Syria, according to the Kremlin press service.
In the center of the exchange of views were the issues of the Syrian settlement. Both sides gave a positive assessment to the results of the meeting of the International Support Group for Syria, held in Munich on February 11-12 and reaffirming the principles and provisions of UN Security Council Resolution 2254, both in terms of humanitarian aspects and the development of models of a ceasefire regime, and in matters of assistance in launching real political process in this country. Support was also expressed for the efforts of two target groups: on a ceasefire and humanitarian aspects, ”the message says.
