PJSC "Zaporozhogneupor" completed the relining of converter No. 1 of PJSC "Azovstal" in record time

PJSC "Zaporozhgneupor" has completed the lining of converter No. 1 of the metallurgical plant "Azovstal". 900 tons of refractories were laid in record time - in 64 hours

The work, which was carried out around the clock, was carried out by a team of highly qualified refractory masons of the service department of PJSC "Zaporozhgneupor" (about 75 people per day).

In the history of Ukrainian metallurgy, such work is performed for the first time (usually at least 5 days are given for laying such a volume of refractory materials). The uniqueness of the overhaul at PJSC MK Azovstal also lies in the fact that for the first time, refractory material of the world famous manufacturer of refractories, PJSC Zaporozhgneupor, was fully used for refractory lining of the converter.

The project implemented by PJSC "Zaporozhgneupor" within the framework of a long-term development strategy allowed PJSC "MK" Azovstal "to save about $ 700 thousand.

“We are confident in the quality of this refractory material and expect that its use will help us set a new record for the refractory lining of a converter at 6,000 heats. Such work in the history of Zaporozhogneupor is being performed for the first time, and we plan to monitor the state of the lining, carry out supervision, issue recommendations for its operation, - said Viktor Busko, General Director of PJSC Zaporozhogneupor, who personally supervised the progress of work on the experimental converter.

It is assumed that after the successful completion of the repair at converter # 1, the specialists of PJSC Zaporozhgneupor will continue to participate in monitoring the operation of this lining throughout the entire service life, and will also be involved in repair work in other structural divisions of the Azovstal plant.
