The budget of the Russian Ministry of Defense was previously planned to be cut by 10 percent, but now a decision has been made to cut it by 5 percent, according to Deputy Defense Minister Tatyana Shevtsova. The reductions will not affect social obligations to the military and the state armaments program.
Tatyana Shevtsova said: “The country's leadership and the president made a decision that the state armaments program should not be sequestered at all. It was also decided that the budget of the Ministry of Defense will be cut not by 10, but by 5 percent and, what is important, social obligations are not subject to sequestration. "
