As part of the social program in 2016, Zaporizhstal will allocate over UAH 1.5 million for the development of children's and youth sports in Zaporozhye.
The sports complex of the plant is a convenient training base for 600 pupils of sports schools in Zaporozhye. Traditionally, the sports complex hosts training in artistic gymnastics, athletics, kickboxing, karate, Greco-Roman wrestling, etc.
The sports arena annually hosts more than 30 youth and children's competitions of various levels. Under the auspices of the Ukrainian Athletics Federation, the youth championship in athletics, competitions of the Zaporozhye branch of the Olympic committee "Olympic Aistenok", the All-Ukrainian festival of martial arts are annually held here. Zaporizhstal also supports water sports: sailing for children at the yacht club, kayaking and canoeing.
Last year, Zaporizhstal allocated UAH 1.4 million for the development of children's sports. In addition, the plant allocated funds to organize summer trainings and rehabilitation of children-pupils of the Zaporozhye Regional Center for Physical Education and Sports of Disabled People. Zaporizhstal also pays out scholarships to Zaporizhzhya athletes from the national team.
