The European Commission, led by Federica Mogherini, will visit Iran on April 16 to discuss “potential interaction and cooperation, which includes energy, economic relations, transport, environment, migration, humanitarian aid, drugs, civil defense, science and cooperation in the field of peaceful nuclear energy, and also culture, ”says the EC.
The European Union is going to discuss with Iran the possibility of importing gas to the EU. “We do not exclude the possibility of importing gas. During the negotiations, the process of discussing these possibilities will be launched, ”the EC said in a statement.
The European Commission notes that the agenda also includes discussion of regional and human rights issues.
The delegation has scheduled meetings with relevant ministers. In addition, Federica Mogherini will meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Ali Larijani and Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani.
