UC RUSAL, a major global aluminum producer, became one of the organizers of the round table “Russian vaccine against Ebola: first lessons and a look into the future”.
RUSAL has been operating in Guinea for over a decade and has become the country's largest foreign employer, and also opened a hospital for the treatment of Ebola in the city of Kindia. The investment in the hospital amounted to about $ 10 million. In the future, the hospital will be able to function as an ordinary medical center, as it is intended for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. The hospital is one of the most advanced viral disease medical centers in West Africa.
At the same time, RUSAL from the first days of the epidemic ensured the delivery of medicines to the Republic of Guinea and staffed the hospital with medical specialists of the required qualifications.
Russia has also allocated funds for testing a new vaccine. The tests will take place at the Scientific and Clinical Diagnostic Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology of the United Company RUSAL in Guinea. It is planned to vaccinate the first two thousand citizens of the Republic of Guinea.
