New high quality pellets and concentrate from Lebedinsky GOK

At a technical conference dedicated to new properties and chemical composition of its products, Lebedinsky Mining and Processing Plant presented new iron ore pellets and high quality concentrate. They have reached a new level of production and are ready to supply raw materials to increase the production of metallurgical enterprises. The main criteria that determine the quality of this product are the percentage of iron, silicon and the strength characteristics of the pellets and concentrate.

According to Oleg Mikhailov, Managing Director of LGOK, they managed to raise the iron concentration in the pellets over 69.5%, which in parallel led to an increase in product strength. High strength can significantly reduce the content of dust that is generated during transportation, thereby improving gas-dynamic processes in blast furnace and steel production. A high iron percentage reduces the amount of slag in each melt and increases the metal yield. The high basicity and silicon content allows metallurgical companies to fulfill specialized orders for low-sulfur iron and steel more easily and cheaper, significantly reducing costs.
