The Chinese state oil company would like to become part of Rosneft. In this connection, consolidated negotiations with the Russian government are planned.
Plans to privatize Russia's largest oil company, Rosneft, have caught the attention of China. China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC) announced Thursday that it has an interest in acquiring a stake in the company. The working group is ready to negotiate with the Russian government, said a CNPC top manager.
Russia wants to sell Rosneft's 19.5 percent stake. The package is estimated at approximately 8.8 billion euros. Rosneft is also considering BP, which already has a 19.75% stake in the company.
