China Investment Bank AIIB will promote the World Bank's three major transport projects in Central Asia. The collaboration shows that Western financial institutions are beginning to accommodate China's new role - much to the chagrin of the US government.
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) will soon be involved in strategic projects including the New Silk Road overland and the Maritime Silk Road, a road project in Pakistan.
AIIB collaborates with organizations that are mainly influenced by American, Japanese and European influences. These include the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the World Bank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The creation of the AIIB was a heavy blow to the US government, despite warnings from almost all of its allies from Washington. Japan was the only country in the American camp not included in the AIIB.
