The export of Israeli gas to Europe through Turkey can be carried out no earlier than in four years, as stated by the Israeli consul in Turkey. According to him, Israel has a real potential to supply its natural gas to European consumers.
The consul also clarified that for the supply of Israeli gas to European markets, first of all, the approval of the country's parliament (Knesset) is required.
Earlier, the executive director of the Turkish company Turcas Petrol said that 15 energy companies are ready to join the consortium, which is planned to be created with the aim of transporting Israeli gas to Europe via Turkey.
Experts believe that even if Israel starts exporting natural gas through Turkey, it will have to use the Azerbaijani TANAP gas pipeline, which is avoiding Azerbaijan.
