Coal reserves increased at thermal power plants of Ukraine in April

Coal stocks in warehouses of thermal power plants (TPPs) in Ukraine in April increased by 3.9 percent to 2.746 million tons, according to the Ministry of Coal Industry.

In particular, the reserves of long-flame coal amounted to 1.633 million tons, while the reserves of hard coal amounted to 1.114 million tons. Coal reserves were replenished due to imports and own production of Ukrainian mines, which increased production compared to last year, while the wear of mining equipment and conveyors is increasing.

To reduce the wear of parts of the conveyor system, to increase the resource of the conveyor belt, the lining of the drums, which is carried out by the Ukrainian enterprise TARGET, allows. LLC Trade and Repair Enterprise "TARGET" is engaged in the maintenance of conveyor systems of various levels of complexity and offers conveyor belts for general purposes, heat-resistant, oil-resistant, food.

Fuel oil stocks at power plants in April decreased by 1.3 percent to 114,100 tons compared to the previous month. Coal reserves at power plants as of May 1, 2016 were 3.1 times more than on May 1, 2015, and fuel oil reserves were 20.7 percent more than in the same period in 2015.

Natural gas consumption at power plants in April 2016 amounted to 170.6 million cubic meters against 491.7 million cubic meters in March 2016 and 295.9 million cubic meters in April 2015.

In January-April 2016, TPPs and CHPs received 437,000 million tons of imported thermal coal, in particular, South Africa supplied 287,000 tons of coal, Russia 150,000 tons. Some shipments of imported coal were shipped by TPP and CHP in April alone, including 4,200 tons from South Africa and 26,900 tons from Russia.
