PJSC "Zaporizhstal" allocated 2.3 million UAH. for grants to the winners of the competition "We are a city"

On June 17, 2016, Zaporizhstal PJSC summed up the results of the competition for social initiatives “We are the city” - 38 winners were identified, each of whom will receive a grant for the development of social projects important for the city in the amount of up to UAH 100 thousand. The total amount of funds allocated for the payment of grants to the winners is over UAH 2.3 million. (in 2013 - UAH 700 thousand, in 2014 - UAH 1.1 million, in 2015 - UAH 1.7 million).

The scale of the competition is growing every year, more and more active Cossacks offer their social initiatives. In 2016, 254 project applications were submitted (in 2013 - 130, in 2014 - 120, in 2015 - 163 applications).

Among the winners are initiatives related to the development of youth sports, volunteering, projects for people with special needs, the improvement of parks, squares, adjoining territories, ideas for city greening, the organization of cultural and educational events.

Among the interesting winning projects in 2016: the installation of tennis tables, bicycle parking, outdoor exercise equipment, playgrounds for people with special needs; creation of a guide to Khortytsya and a tourist route for traveling along the Razumovsky Plavni; a project to create a book court near the library for organizing cultural events; organization of the first all-Ukrainian festival of Beatlemania, as well as educational projects related to the study of foreign languages ​​and raising the level of financial literacy.

A distinctive feature of the 2016 competition was the online voting for the People's Project, in which 7.5 thousand residents of Zaporozhye took part. The popular project that received the largest number of votes was the initiative of the ZOOO “Sports Club“ AJAX ”-“ Help for young footballers ”to improve the mini-football field for children of preschool and primary school age. "People's Project" received additional points to the overall final assessment, set by the expert council, and reached the final.
